Candle Care

Trim the wick

Before every burn, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This gives you a clean, even flame and prevents soot and mushrooming.

The first burn matters

On the first light, let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the jar before putting it out, usually 2 to 3 hours. This sets the memory of the candle and prevents tunneling down the middle.

Keep burns reasonable

Burn your candle for no more than 3 to 4 hours at a time, then let it cool completely before relighting.

Know when to stop

Stop burning once about 1/4 inch of wax remains at the bottom. Burning past that point can overheat the vessel.

Burn safely

Always burn on a heat-safe surface, away from drafts, curtains, and anything flammable. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
